A Split Bolt Electrical Connector is a bolted-type connector, which is reusable and which is mostly composed of high-conductivity material, like electrolytic copper, brass or bronze. It consists of:

• A longitudinal slot in a threaded bolt body.
• A pressure nut
• A saddle (in some designs)

The slotted design enables conductors to be fitted and tightened mechanically with a wrench and provides a secure electrical and mechanical bond.
